What is Dermaplaning?
This is a method of exfoliating treatment that will removes the peach fuzz and dead skin with the gentle scrape of a scalpel. It is a great solution for many skin concerns, including helping to remove unwanted pigmentation, lines and wrinkles.
The treatment begins with a deep cleanse, removing all makeup and dirt on the skin. We offer Dermaplan full-face treatments, which, except for the nose area, removes all the dead, dull skin, and peach fuzz hair, as well as dehydrated and rough-textured skin. The treatment is then finished with hydrating serums, and moisturiser.
Your treatment can be performed immediately after your consultation.
What are the effects?
The treatment produces a brighter and more youthful glow to your skin. It also allows other skincare products to be absorbed into the skin more easily. When this treatment is repeated, it will leave your skin appearance noticeably improved compared to before. You will also find that also find that makeup sits more smoothly on the skin following the removal of fine hairs.
How does it work?
We use a surgical scalpel to finely exfoliate the top layers of skin. We then position it at a precise angle and the scalpel is then lightly pulled across the skin when it is pulled taut, to avoid damage. As we work in sections the treatment will reveal a more youthful complexion. We then apply sun cream to the skin as you will be hypersensitive to UV rays right after treatment.
What is it good for?
This procedure can treat many skin concerns, and is great for treating dull, dry, dehydrated skin. Also helping to reduce pigmentation, lines and wrinkles. Dermaplaning is a popular treatment due to the way it removes the Vellus hair (peach fuzz). It negates putting harsh chemicals on the skin to bleach this hair, or painful waxing. With Dermaplaning, the feels super soft for weeks after.
Who can have the treatment?
Dermaplaning is suitable for many skin types and concerns, but people with cystic acne should not have Dermaplaning.
What should I expect after?
Right after the treatment, your skin will have a healthier glow. You may also experience slight redness, which usually recedes after 30 minutes.

Booking terms and Conditions
Contraindications to treatment:
* COVID-19 vaccinations: current guidelines are to avoid fillers for two weeks before and three weeks after vaccine, and to avoid anti-wrinkle treatments for one week following.
* Strictly no under-18s for aesthetic treatments, (18-25 year-olds will need to provide photo ID. We do offer some skin treatments for under 18s, but they must be occupied by an adult.)
* Pregnant or breastfeeding women (unless booking a pregnancy facial)
* Cold sores
* Wounds/sunburn
* Some auto immune disease can affect the response and longevity of treatment. To discuss please contact us.
* Recent Surgery without post-operative follow up
* Dermal Fillers or Anti-Wrinkle Treatments placed within 4 weeks of your appointment
**Failing to comply with the above contradictions could result in no treatment being carried out and loss of deposit. **
Deposits and Cancellations
All appointments require a 30% booking deposit. Appointments are confirmed upon receipt of deposit payment.
ART SKIN CLINIC has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Deposits are non-refundable or transferable without 72 hours' notice.
To cancel or rearrange your appointment you must call the clinic.
Any changes to appointments after this time will require a new booking deposit.
Rearrangements for prepaid courses of treatment also require 72 hours' notice – failing to comply will result in a £50.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations due to covid-19 require proof of a positive PC test; providing this we will honour your deposit regardless of notice given.
